Country singer and legend, Garth Brooks held a concert of his in Detroit recently. He showed up to his concert wearing a Sanders Jersey with the number 20 on the back, to appeal to his Detroit based audience. Well, the internet and some of Garth's fans flipped out over photos of Garth Brooks wearing his Sanders 20 Jersey, because they thought Sanders with the number 20 on the back stood for Bernie Sanders 2020. They all jumped to conclusions and some fans started posting comments saying "You lost a fan" & "Trump 2020". Apparently some people don't remember that 1) Garth is a football fan. 2) Barry Sanders was a well known NFL player for the Detroit Lions (which city Garth was in) who wore the number 20.
This is a great lesson to people to not jump to conclusions and maybe think before you speak! Anyone who actually follows Garth Brooks would never guess that of all the political candidates in the 2020 race, Garth would support Bernie Sanders. Bernie Sanders is almost the last candidate you would suspect Garth to follow.
What makes this story even better, is that NFL star Barry Sanders, himself responded to this story, playing along, asking Garth Brooks if he'll be his VP!
