Box Office Hits Weekend of Oct. 12th

We made it to the weekend and it looks as though Friday is going to be cloudy/misty but the rest of the weekend should hold up! No matter what the weather, these movies have hit local theaters near you:

MOVIES:

1) First Man

The title hints at just that...it's the story of the first man on the moon, Neil Armstrong, who is played by Ryan Gosling. The film takes you on not just the journey to the moon but the journey of Armstrong's life up to that takeoff to the moon. How did his life lead to that history making moment of boarding a rocketship to the moon? This film answers those questions and showcases the full story.

Critics and Audiences alike give this film high scores. Critics give it 89% positive while audiences give it a positive score of 72%.

The film is rated PG-13

2) Bad Times at the El Royale

This star studded film includes actors: John Hamm, Jeff Bridges, Chris Hemsworth, Dakota Johnson, and Nick Offerman to name a few. It's about seven strangers who all come to stay at this rundown hotel who "have a secret to bury". It takes place over the course of one "fateful night" where they all have a shot at redemption. 

This suspenseful film is rated R. Audiences and critics are rating it fairly high. Critics give it a score of 75% and audiences give it a score of 79%

3) Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween 

Based off of the children's beloved spooky stories, Goosebumps hits theatres for a second time capturing R.L. Stine's themed stories. It's a family friendly flick that's a little bit of comedy and a little bit of horror. 

This film isn't receiving the best reviews from critics and audiences...Rotten Tomatoes gives it a score of 40% positive and audiences only give it a slightly higher review at 50% positive.
