A group of Massachusetts voters are urging Joe Kennedy III to run against Ed Markey for his U.S. Senate seat.
The 38-year-old Massachusetts Rep. Joe Kennedy III -- the grandson of Robert F. Kennedy – would challenge the 73-year-old incumbent Democratic Senator Ed Markey in 2020.
Kennedy supporters have setup a website, readyforjk3.com. There is also a Facebook page, “Jump in Joe! Ready for Joe Kennedy III for US Senate.”
“This is a critical time for our nation. We believe that the United States Senate needs a proactive progressive leader like Joe Kennedy III,” the Facebook page reads. “This is not about the incumbent, but rather about the vision and leadership Joe can bring to the Senate. We are calling on him to jump in the race for United States Senate in 2020!”
