Today Senator Elizabeth Warren officially suspended her Presidential campaign. Outside her home in Cambridge, MA, hand in hand with her husband and Bailey in tow, she addressed the media about her decision to end her campaign. A reporter asked Warren what her message would be to the women and girls who feel they are left now with two white men to choose from. Her response to the question was: "one of the hardest things about this is all the "pinky promises" and all those little girls who are going to have to wait four more years. That's gonna be hard." Pinky promises, huh?
The fight has ended for Warren, at least the fight for the White House and to quote Elizabeth herself, there will be no more "blood and teeth left on the floor". According to sources, Warren made these statements to her staff on a conference call:
“I know that when we set out, this was not the call you ever wanted to hear. It is not the call I ever wanted to make,” she added. “But I refuse to let disappointment blind me or you to what we’ve accomplished. We didn’t reach our goal, but what we have done together, what you have done, has made a lasting difference.”
