Did the President insinuate injecting disinfectant to combat COVID-19?

Last evening during the COVID-19 press briefing at the White House, President Trump said some comments regarding ideas of how to possibly treat COVID-19 that had many raising their eyebrows, including Dr. Birx. He made the suggestion that they could maybe test out ways of using disinfectant on the body by way of injection. He said specifically: "And then I see the disinfectant knocks it out in a minute, one minute, and is there a way we can do something like that, uh by injection inside?"

This comment lit the world on fire and especially Twitter, thus causing Lysol and Dettol maker Reckitt Benckiser to issue a statement to consumers warning them to NOT ingest any of their disinfectant products.

You heard the statement by President Trump, above. What do you make of it? I personally think it was a bad choice of words. Hard core Trump supporters are up in arms saying "he did not say Lysol, he said disinfectant so Lysol did not need to make a public statement". Okay, who doesn't think of Lysol or Clorox when mentioning disinfectant? It's like saying bandage without thinking of a band aid. Come on. Secondly, using disinfectant and injection in the same train of thought or sentence is just not a good idea. I don't care who you are. I like President Trump, I really do, but I'm not afraid to admit when I hear something that didn't sound or come out right, I will call you out on it. While most of us are smart and understand that injecting or ingesting disinfectant is NOT a good idea, it's dangerous to our health, there are people out there, some American citizens that take everything the President says, literally and might actually try this at home. Just my thoughts.

President Trump has now come out today addressing his disinfectant comments from yesterday, saying he meant the statements sarcastically and that "I was asking a question sarcastically to reporters like you just to see what would happen."

Do you believe his comments were sarcastic? You heard his original comments above. I think if that was sarcasm, that was terrible delivery on his part. Dr. Birx didn't look like she thought it was a sarcastic comment either...

Despite Trump's walk-back or explanation...do you think Lysol needed to put out a statement urging people to not ingest their products? I think it was smart on their part. They need to cover their bases but what do you think?
