Sen. Sasse gives us a lecture on civics after Sen. Klobuchar blasts Trump

Today is the first day of the confirmation hearings for Honorary Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court of the United States. Every senator has an opening statement and Senator Amy Klobuchar took up her time by blasting President Trump for his handling of COVID-19 and essentially blamed him for the COVID-19 deaths in this country. She went off on a tear on this for over 10 minutes leaving a lot of people asking what the heck COVID and President Trump's handling of it has to do with Hon. Judge Amy Coney Barrett and her nomination...? Watch Klobuchar's grandstanding here:

Thank goodness the senator up next was Senator Ben Sasse of Nebraska who took his beginning time to call out Senator Klobuchar's irrelevant expressions on COVID and proceeded to give everyone a lecture on civics. He was the voice of reason today amid a sea of grandstanding ridiculousness by the Democrats...

I applaud Sen. Sasse for calling out Klobuchar's comments blasting President Trump and getting really off topic. Sen. Sasse put it wisely, "I don't know what any of that has anything to do with what we're here to do today". Exactly, thank you. Get to the task at hand. This is not a political attack ad, Sen. Klobuchar, it's a confirmation hearing. Maybe as VB says, we really should not broadcast these hearings because in doing so, all these Senators feel like they have to put on a show like some made for TV movie. What do you think though? Do you think these hearings should be broadcast? I don't...
