Who the heck not only thinks running cold water over your hot pizza to cool it down is a good idea, but actually does it?! This guy's wife (username DaddyRavioli) first posted a comment on the popular Reddit opinion board, Unpopular Opinions claiming: "My husband believes running pizza under water to cool it down is acceptable." The post went viral and DaddyRavioli since uploaded a video on Imgur, proving the original claim. She went on to say: "Not my opinion, but my husband’s. In college, my husband and I would make oven pizzas and he would run his slices under the water fountain to cool it down faster. He says it didn’t change the taste and was still good."
See the proof for yourself here:
Is that VB? We all remember VB and his crazy food habits...I'm not sure even he would pull such a treasonous act...Of course in typical fashion, Reddit users did not shy away from sharing their thoughts on this abomination to pizza everywhere:
- "Not all marriages are worth saving."
- "We’re beyond weird...This, this is a war crime."
- "I think this is clearly disallowed by Geneva convention."
- "horrified screams"
- "People who can’t be bothered to wait a few minutes for their pizza to cool down.....god I thought I was impatient but this takes the cake"
- "I just don’t understand why he can’t wait the two minutes it takes for it to cool down. Or why not stick it in the fridge? Why water? Why god, WHY!?!?"
- "Get out of the house now, your husband is a serial killer."
It keeps going...
I have to say, I agree with the reaction from these Reddit users. This is unacceptable. This is Step 1 for how to ruin a pizza. Dammit, you cannot let any of the spices/flavor wash away! What happened to the parmesan cheese, the garlic powder, the OREGANO!? Oh my God, the travesty...and I thought 2021 had such promise... What a sad, sad day for the pizza world.
