Library apologizes for inviting a rainbow monkey with fake genitalia

In no way is this a joke...well I mean the actor seems to be a joke but the story is legit...The Redbridge Central Library located in the UK is now apologizing for inviting an actor who was dressed in a rainbow monkey costume sporting a bare butt and a fake penis, to encourage children to read. Local parents went "wild" after pictures of the actor started circulating online. The event was part of the library's Summer Reading Challenge that is a program run by the Redbridge Council in East London. This performance with the rainbow monkey actor from Mandinga Arts, a local troupe of performers, was scheduled by a local charity called Vision RCL, who is a charity partner of the libraries group. Therefore the Redbridge Council is claiming that this charity group (Vision RCL) is responsible for the outrage.

This is the costume that the local UK actor was sporting while walking into the library to encourage young kids to read...You be the judge if this is inappropriate...

If you notice in the imagery above, the library appeared to joke about the monkey even after being aware of the actor's getup. They commented on Instagram to another library saying, "when you got it, flaunt it I suppose".

Many local residents and parents expressed extreme displeasure with this library performance on the Redbridge Libraries Facebook page after the libraries group was forced to put out a public apology.

"Not aware of at the time of booking" But you would have been aware once they arrived dressed like that and should have immediately cancelled the whole thing and sent them packing. But no you laughed about it on social media and then this rubbish 'apology' you've HAD to make because of the complaints. Shame on you."

"It’s funny how this apology was only deemed necessary after people started complaining. Prior to that certainly whoever runs your Instagram account clearly thought it was quite funny!"

Do you think parents have every right to be offended and upset about this actor's attire at a local library during an event that is suppose to be geared towards children's reading? How would you respond if you went to bring your child to the library and saw this...
