BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Red Sox have the best record in all of baseball at 68-and-30 but, even with wins in 17 of 20 entering the All-Star break, it's not as though they've got a huge cushion. The American League rival Yankees and the defending-champion Astros sit just four-and-a-half games back.

Boston and New York have 10 meetings left, including the final three games of the season in September. There are also three match-ups with Houston early that month.

So, with 40 percent of the regular season still to play, Sox All-Star Mitch Moreland knows it'll be a dog-fight to stay atop the standings.

"It's definitely going to be a tough run here in the second half," Moreland said. "Both teams, they're really good squads. You're going to see it come down to the wire. We know what it takes and they do too, so it's going to be a fun second half, something we're looking forward to."

Yanks pitcher Luis Severino weighed in on what fans can expect down the stretch.

"We are ready to fight, we are ready," he said. "We're gonna go there and try to be the best players we can be, and we're going to fight until the end."

Boston will open a six-game trip in Detroit tomorrow.
