BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- It was a tough day at Patriots practice yesterday for many members of the offense, including still new receiver Eric Decker. He dropped three passes from Tom Brady. It's safe to say the nine-year vet's still learning the offense.

"This is a complex offense," Decker said. "There's a lot asked upon you as a skilled player, as a football player in general. Learning the playbook, just rehearsing it, getting on the field, being able to get reps of walk-through and then live action. It helps again, slow things down, kind of take that thinking out of it and just play ball again."

Decker admitted he's still working to build trust with Brady and acknowledged the playbook's loaded with details. It's obviously important to be in the right spot and make plays.

One guy who has Brady's trust is Chris Hogan, and he likes the addition of Decker.

"Smart kid, I mean he really has come in here and worked really hard trying to study the playbook," Hogan said. "It's not like things are slowing down here--we're only moving a lot faster, and I think he's doing a very good job of coming in here, studying stuff, getting ready to go so he can go out there and play."

Decker only played six snaps, without a catch, in the preseason opener. At the moment, it's no sure thing Decker will make the team.
