BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM) -- Walpole Police Chief John Carmichael says four vehicles have been stolen over the last couple of nights and nearly a dozen other cars ransacked, all in the area of School, East and Kendall Streets.
A lot of the cars were either unlocked or had the keys in them. Carmichael says items were taken from the vehicles.
"Money - mostly change. There were some credit cards that were taken. We'll be following up with that," Carmichael said.
Two of the four stolen cars were taken from the driveway of David Cuddy. He says it's a very unsettling feeling.
"Violated, I guess. Ya wanna change the locks on the doors. My windows are low to the ground so it's a little disconcerting," Cuddy said.
Cuddy and his wife were awaked by a phone call from Police asking why their son's car was down the street only three blocks away from their home. Once Cuddy looked out the window he realized that his truck was gone. His other vehicles -- all the doors were oen
Besides Cuddy's two vehicles, two other cars in the neighborhood were stolen.
"Our big message is always gonna be -- safeguard property," said Carmichael. "Don't make it easy for the criminals to get into your vehicle, to steal your vehicle and to keep everything locked up," he said.
