Man Took Machete To The Hand To Save Woman's Life

A heroic man out of Bakerfield, California, was casually at a Starbucks when he jumped in front of a woman to protect her from a machete-wielding man who was coming after her. 27 year old, Blaine Hodge is being viewed as a hero who saved this woman's life. Hodge was indeed stabbed multiple times, having to receive 200 stitches! The woman Hodge was trying to protect, was also injured. She is reported to be in critical condition. A friend who witnessed the whole incident, Joe Harris, said that the woman was totally panicked: "She was saying 'help me' and then at one point she said, 'This guy's going to kill me."

Harris went on to say of his friend Hodge: "Everyone else was running away and he was the first person to run straight to the action. He was like: 'I'm going to stop this guy, regardless if I get stabbed or not. I can't let this woman die."

Blaine Hodge, as a result of his injuries, may lose use of his right hand and is looking at upwards of 6 weeks of recovery. There has been a Go Fund Me page to help support Hodge and his medical costs for his heroic actions. If you want to donate to it, visit the Go Fund Me Page, HERE

Luckily, the man with the machete has been identified as 31-year-old Robert Daniel Rivas. He has been charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest.
