BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- With the Patriots set to host the Chargers to start their playoff run Sunday, QB Tom Brady spoke last week about what he likes about this year's squad.

"Every team has its own unique identity, and this team cares a lot about each other," Brady said. "We play for each other, you know, we're playing to win. I think that's what we're here for. We've shown we can compete, we've shown we can overcome some adversity. We've been counted out a few times, and showed back up with a lot of resolve, and we have great character on this team. Our story's still being written. Fortunately, we have an opportunity to write it."

Brady's 19-3 all-time at home in the playoffs.

Chargers are fresh off a Wild Card win in Baltimore. They're back home in Los Angeles now, but will have to return for a second straight East Coast game, which of course is 10 am their time.

Brady's a perfect 7-and-0 in his career against the Bolts. That includes a pair of playoff wins after the 2006 and 2007 seasons, but he was also picked off six times in those two victories. It's a friendlier 14-8 ratio if you factor in all seven meetings.

For those concerned about Rob Gronkowski ... if you're curious, he's scored five TD's and totaled 19 catches for 240 yards in four career meetings against the Chargers.
