BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Massachusetts Department of Public Health Department has reported 15 new presumptive positive cases of coronavirus in the state, making a total of 28 people in Massachusetts with positive COVID-19 test results.
One case has been confirmed by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, while 27 cases are presumptive positives, meaning the state-level COVID-19 tests came back positive, but they are still waiting on confirmation from the CDC.
Mass. DPH said the 15 new presumptive positive cases are made up of eight men and seven women. The department also confirmed all 15 new cases are people who had direct connection to the Biogen conference in Boston in late February.
The news cases include five people in Suffolk County ranging in age from 30s to 60s, five people in Middlesex County ranging in age from 40s to 60s, four cases in Norfolk County randing in age from 40s to 60s, and a female whose age and county of residence is not currently known. All patients are currently isolating themselves at home.
DPH announced five patients with presumtpive positives on Saturday, three of whom had also been to the Biogen conference.
