Phase 3 in Massachusetts means weddings without bars and dance floors!

Phase 3 in Massachusetts starts this coming Monday July 6th, after the 4th. Included in Phase 3 is the allowance of wedding and party venues to hold weddings. That sounds like great news for eager brides and grooms, right? Wrong. The catch with allowing these events to take place at venues throughout the Commonwealth is that there will be no bars and no dance floor allowed! Yes, you heard that correct, you can have your wedding but with NO BAR SERVICE and NO DANCE FLOOR! With that new "rule", what's the point of even having a wedding then...or at least a reception...?

With these new guidelines, indoor venues are limited to to eight people per thousand square feet, but should not include more than 25 people in a single enclosed indoor space. Then for outdoor venues they are limited to 25% of a facility’s normal capacity with a limit of 100 people. Tables must be social distanced by at least six feet; no more than six people can be seated at a table.

If you are a bride or groom that has been eagerly waiting for your upcoming wedding, and you heard this news, would you move forward with the wedding or postpone it? I would postpone it for sure. What the heck is the point of having a celebration or reception without a bar and dancing? I mean come on! I get they are trying to make it work but if that's the solution, I'll pass.
