Today during a press conference House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was taking questions from the media when she was asked if she thinks they should move on from the impeachment trial of President Trump given now President Biden's inaugural message of unity. Pelosi went on to say that no, she does not think they should move on from the trial and furthermore, if they did move away from the trial it would contradict Biden's message of unity. President Trump has been impeached for charges of inciting an insurrection on January 6th in which 5 people died and numerous people were arrested. Madam Speaker told the press that former President Trump does not get to do whatever he wants in the last couple months of his presidency and get a "Get Out Of Jail Card free" just because people think we should make "nice, nice".
What do you make of this statement? Should they carry on with the impeachment trial despite President Biden's inaugural message of unity? I'm not one bit surprised by House Speaker Pelosi's response. Did you really think the Democrats would drop the impeachment trial just because former President Trump is no longer in office? I didn't. I think they are out to make sure he can never get in that Oval Office again and they will do everything in their power to make sure that happens. One little message of unity is not going to change that notion. Just because Joe Biden is now the president, does not mean President Trump will not be in the headlines for the next couple years dealing with the impeachment trial as well as continuing a movement to make a comeback. While Democrats say it's finally over, we all know it's not. President Trump is not going to just back away into the shadows. For one it's not in his nature and two he wants to continue on with his Make America Great Again movement whether that be in another campaign run in 2024, creating a new political party in the country as Jeff Kuhner suggests with the "Patriot Party", or pioneering a whole new social media platform where his voice as well as other conservative voices are able to be freely heard. So, I hate to break it the Democrats but Trump is not and will not be "going away" anytime soon if ever.
