Box Truck Converted Into A Tiny Home — A Look Inside

STOUGHTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — How exactly do you convert 98 square feet of box truck into a tiny home?

A filmmaker from the South Shore, with a passion for the planet, has taken his ideals on the road — quite literally. Alex Eaves has converted a box truck into a livable home.

Eaves is behind the documentary “REUSE! Because You Can’t Recycle The Planet.” The tiny home is one way he incorporates reuse in his life.

“Recycling has become kind of a guessing game, but with reuse, you know exactly what you’re doing,” Eaves said. “I wanted to show people how I lived an entire day from how I work, to how I shower, to how I eat. Every aspect of your life from morning until night, you can involve reuse. You can save resources, time, and a lot of money.”

Eaves’ box truck home has an office, a full bathroom, a kitchen, a closet, two beds, a couch, a dining room table.

“It is 98 square feet, but because we’ve kept the floor plan open, and certain things are dual use — they transform in a sense — that makes that space more efficient. And it makes it appear to be bigger than it is,” the home’s architect, Derek Diedricksen, said.
