BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Bruins’ coach Bruce Cassidy is in his third season running the team’s bench — second full year after taking over for Claude Julien late in the 2016-2017 campaign, and he has enjoyed a lot of success.

Now, with Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final Monday night in St. Louis, with the Bruins’ up 2-1, Cassidy sits just two wins shy of his first championship.

Coach Bill Belichick has won six Super Bowls with the New England Patriots. Alex Cora won a World Series in his rookie year as the Red Sox manager last fall.

Cassidy spoke about his relationship with Boston’s other head coaches.

“I think there’s always a common goal and that is the pressure to win and the expectations in Boston. So, we all kind of feel the same thing, which is a good thing, you want those. It’s bringing us closer together. And hopefully I can join them with a championship,” Cassidy said.

Cassidy said he has also gotten to know Celtics’ coach Brad Stevens well because the teams share a building — TD Garden.
