Haverhill Teen Faces Murder Charge

HAVERHILL, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Haverhill man will be arraigned on a charge of murder, after he allegedly fatally stabbed another man behind Haverhill Stadium.

Local and state police arrested 18-year-old Oscar Quinones on Wednesday morning and charged him in the stabbing death of 19-year-old Efrain Indio Maisonet, also of Haverhill.

Police were notified at around 8:40 p.m. on Tuesday night that Maisonet had arrived at Merrimack Valley Hospital at Holy Family in Haverhill with multiple stab wounds.

Investigators later learned the victim had been in a parking lot in the rear of Haverhill stadium with friends, when Quinones allegedly approached and stabbed him, and then fled.

The Essex DA's Office said Quinones is being held without bail at the Essex County Correctional Facility. He will be arraigned by teleconference on Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
