BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Speaking to WBZ NewsRadio's Laurie Kirby Thursday afternoon, Massachusetts Rep. Jim McGovern said Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report on the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election was much more serious than Attorney General William Barr's summary made it seem.

"This report is damning," he said. "It talks not only about collusion, but it talks about obstruction in a very serious way. In fact it says that the president's actions are so serious that we cannot exonorate him from obstruction of justice and asks Congress to take it up, and I think that's what Congress will have to do."

He said he was outraged by the Trump administration's line that the report proved the president innocent.

"The big lie is what Kellyanne Conway stated, which is that the President was exonerated—he was not," McGovern said. "The report from Mr. Mueller is far different from the four-page summary that Attorney General Barr released only a couple of weeks ago."

As for whether impeachment would be considered, McGovern said "nothing is off the table."
