Massachusetts Confirms 152 Additional Cases Of Coronavirus

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Massachusetts Department of Public Health has reported an additional 152 confirmed cases of COVID-19, for a total of 105,290 confirmed cases in the state.

The DPH also attributed an additional 28 deaths to coronavirus, bringing the state's total COVID-related confirmed death toll to 8,081.

There are also 5,820 probable cases of the virus, and 215 deaths among probable cases.

The three-day average number of COVID-19 patients in Massachusetts hospitals has risen slightly this week, from 620 on Monday to 643 on Friday. The number of hospitals in the Commonwealth using surge capacity also rose this week from one to four.

On Friday, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported nearly 60,000 new cases of COVID-19 in the U.S., upping the total number of confirmed cases in the nation to more than 3.1 million.
