The state DPH also confirmed an additional 17 deaths attributed to COVID-19, upping the death toll in Massachusetts to 8,149.
Out of more than 12,000 state residents who were tested for COVID-19 over the past day, more than 98 percent did not have the virus. The daily positive coronavirus test rate has been under five percent in Massachusetts for the past month.
There are currently 656 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 across the state, 106 of whom are in the ICU, and 55 of whom are intubated.
As the Commonwealth prepares to enter Phase Three of the economic reopening plan, most other states are reporting increases in cases of COVID-19, including Texas, Florida, California, and Arizona, according to Johns Hopkins University.
The U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention said as of Friday, there were more than 2.73 million COVID-19 cases in the nation, and more than 128,000 Americans have died from the virus so far.
