Methuen Crash Leaves Two Seriously Injured

METHUEN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A single-vehicle crash in Methuen Monday night sent two victims to the hospital.

According to police, a 2006 Audi convertible was traveling eastbound on North Lowell St. at around 10:40 p.m.

When the car reached the area of 215 North Lowell St., it veered onto the road shoulder, collided with a fieldstone wall, and eventually stopped in a wooded area.

Occupants Matthew Spanner, 19, of Methuen and Gabriel Hernandez, 22, of Methuen were both ejected from the vehicle.

Methuen Police and Fire arrived on scene and transported the two victims to local hospitals.

Spanner is listed in stable condition, while Hernandez is listed in critical condition.

An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
