Worcester Firefighter, Resident Injured In Heavy Fire

WORCESTER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A firefighter and a resident were injured on Sunday after a two-alarm fire broke out at a two-story house on Sandra Drive.

Fire crews responded to calls about the house fire at around 4:30 p.m. When firefighters arrived, the residential building was billowing heavy smoke and flames out the window.

Shortly after 5 p.m., Worcester Fire Department reported the fire had been extinguished, and one resident and one firefighter had been "transported with minor injuries."

There was no immediate update on their conditions. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
