About El Mundo Boston

El Mundo Boston is an iconic Latino media outlet that’s been a Boston based business for over 50 years.

What began as El Mundo Newspaper, the first Spanish-language publication in New England in 1972, has evolved into a media and entertainment company that also produces large scale events in both English and Spanish: The Latino Career Expo and Professional Mixer - Latino Youth Recognition Days at Fenway Park - The El Mundo Latino Family Festival at Fenway Park - El Mundo Hispanic Heritage Breakfast - The Latino 30 under 30.

This year El Mundo Boston has been celebrating its 50th anniversary and its long run as a family-run business. Started by a Cuban exile in the early 70’s, Alberto Vasallo Jr., the company is now run by his son.

They both have the same name, so odds are if you’ve been in the business community in Boston over the past five decades and have had a need for working with the Latino market, you probably know at least one of the Alberto Vasallo’s - the father or the son.
