Bad Bunny Gets A Drag Makeover In Powerful Video For 'Yo Perreo Sola'

Bad Bunny's new video for "Yo Perreo Sola" sees the reggaeton rapper pushing his agenda to defend women's rights.

In the clip, which was co-directed by the star himself, as well as Stillz, the Puerto Rican superstar offers viewers several eye-popping looks, including scenes with him in drag. Throughout the video, the star twerks with a version of himself in three distinct drag ensembles and if that doesn't convey his message properly, an alternating scene of Benito chained to several women's leashes in a kilt does the trick. "Yo Perreo Sola," which translates to "I Twerk Alone," is featured on his new album, YHLQMDLG, and was written with a specific intention.

"I wrote it from the perspective of a woman,” Bad Bunny told Rolling Stone of the song, which features budding singer Nesi offering vocals. "I wanted a woman's voice to sing it — 'yo perreo sola' — because it doesn’t mean the same thing when a man sings it. But I do feel like that woman sometimes."

At the end of the clip, Bad Bunny pushes one final sentiment with a public service announcement on sexual harassment. "If she doesn’t want to dance with you, respect her, she twerks alone," reads the final frames of the video. As expected, the star received a fair amount of reactions to the clip, but as with everything helps he does, he owned it. "I have answers to all your questions, and defense for all your accusations, but … Who the hell are you?" he wrote on Twitter. "Not that you were my mom to give you explanations. Bye"
