Women outraged over new Alabama law that will not allow abortions for rape

The state of Alabama has just passed a new bill through the Senate that has shocked women everywhere. They passed a law that basically banned all abortions with only one exception, which is if the pregnancy is life threatening to the mother. Otherwise, women are NOT allowed to receive an abortion at any stage, even in the incidence of rape or incest. Let me clarify even more, a 12 year old could be raped by a stranger or even family member and the state of Alabama does not support her whatsoever because they will not allow for an abortion. The Alabama Senate passed this bill in a 25 to 6 vote.

One of the Senators, Bobby Singleton actually apologized to women for this outcome:

Senator Singleton tried pushing for more exemptions to the law to include women of rape and incest and even brought in victims but the other Republicans in the Senate tabled the exemptions. Alabama's new ban here challenges a long time Roe. vs. Wade ruling. Those like the American Liberties Civil Union are challenging Alabama and one of their representatives of the "Reproductive Freedom Project", Alexa Kolbi-Molinas, who is an attorney, put out a statement saying: "We will not stand by while politicians endanger the lives of women and doctors for political gain. Know this, Governor Ivey: If you sign this dangerous bill into law, we will see you in Court."

What is your take on this? I can tell you mine...every woman I have talked to is outraged over this because it feels like their rights are being taken away from them. There is a reason images of the Handmaid's Tale are trending on social media...because that's what this feels like, a pull back to a time when women were used as only a means for reproduction and to serve men. In my opinion, this is a step back for women and for the state of Alabama. To tell a young girl or woman that she has no control over the outcome of a unwanted rape when she had no control over the attack in the first place is just cruel and inhumane. Women need to be able to have the right to choose what to do with their own bodies and for the state of Alabama to take away a women's right to choose is suppressing them and they might as well take away their right to vote while they are at it...
