Dr. Fauci says COVID-19 could come back seasonally

Dr. Anthony Fauci, an American immunologist who heads the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and who is currently serving on the Coronavirus task force at the White House, spoke to the public yesterday during a White House briefing where he addressed the idea of COVID-19 being a seasonal/cyclical virus. Fauci said that the Coronavirus could very well be a seasonal virus that comes back in full force this fall/winter and we need to be prepared for that. There is growing evidence that suggests this idea of COVID-19 being a cyclical virus. Researchers are seeing in other areas in the southern hemisphere that the virus is popping up in greater force as they enter their winter months.

Will COVID-19 back off come summer but then re-surge come the fall? Dr. Fauci says we need to be prepared for all possible scenarios and get a vaccine ready in case this virus hits us again in full force months after the cases appear to settle down. So how long could we be under social distancing guidelines? That's TBD because while we try to prepare and come up with a timeline, Dr. Fauci says it's the virus who makes the timeline.

Does that statement by Dr. Fauci startle you? "You don’t make the timeline. The virus makes the timeline." To me that statement tells me, we could be in quarantine/social distancing mode for quite a LONG time with no end in sight!

Your thoughts?
