Is the most sleep deprived state in America, New Hampshire because that's where I reside...? Because I'll tell you, New Hampshire feels like the most sleep deprived state to me! According to County Health Rankings & Roadmaps, a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute joint program, and 24/7 Wall St. the most sleep deprived state in the U.S.A is surprisingly Hawaii! What?! When I think of the beach and a so called beach vibe state like Hawaii I think of napping on the beach and sleeping so I'm surprised...must be all those tourists splashing about? Or the constant worry of one of Hawaii's six volcanos erupting! Despite all that, 43% of those surveyed reported getting less than 7 hours of sleep on average.
Where does New England states fall on the list?
Massachusetts has been ranked #31 out of 50 states for the most sleep deprived with under 34% reporting less than 7 hours of sleep on average.
New Hampshire falls at #25 with 35% reporting less than 7 hours of sleep.
Rhode Island falls at #22 with 36% getting less than 7 hours of sleep so Rhode Island is New England's most sleep deprived state!
Soon to be One Dollar Twenty Five Tree! Dollar Tree hikes prices by 25% due to inflation. The company says by raising the prices they will be able to bring back some favorite products again that they previously were forced to stop selling. Does the price increase bother you? It's only by 25 cents but you might be asking is this just the beginning and when will the price increase again? While Dollar Tree does sell some essentials for people, it's mainly a store good for seasonal goods, party items, stationary, and more specialty items. I personally go there for gift wrap and party supplies like gift bags, tissue paper, and cards. It's perfect for that!
What's on the table for Thanksgiving this year? Turkey, some stuffing, cranberry sauce, how about some politics? Not for a majority of Americans surveyed in this Quinnipiac University poll! Of the almost 1,400 surveyed, the 66% majority said they "hope to avoid" conversations about politics at the dinner table this year. However about 21% said they are "looking forward" to hashing out their political views while feasting at the dinner table this year! How about you? Are you trying to avoid the discussion of politics or are you yourself going to bring it up? For me personally I tend to avoid it because in my line of work working at WRKO, I'm dealing with politics all the time so I like to take a breather but inevitably people bring it up to me because they are fascinated by my work environment and want to get my take or hear about the scuttlebutt at work. So, I'm under the 66% percent who want to avoid it not because I'm afraid or concerned over conflict but because I'm sick of it! Haha. Sorry, I'm not sorry!
