NWS Issues Snow Squall Warning

BOSTON, MA (WBZ NewsRadio) — The National Weather Service has issued a snow squall warning until 6:45 p.m. Wednesday.

The warning affects most of northeast Connecticut, Central and Eastern MA as well as all of Rhode Island with visibility as low as ¼ mile along with wind gusts as high as 50 mph.

They say that sudden whiteouts conditions and icy roads are expected and have advised drivers to slow down or stay off the roads all together


In addition, Mass State Police has lowered the speed limit to 40 MPH along the Mass Turnpike (I-90) in western sections due to the whiteout conditions.
