College librarians at Simmons College need to inform you of something straight out of immigination land. Apparently wishing someone “Merry Christmas” or stating “God bless you” following a sneeze now makes you islamophobic. To put it in their terms it's considered an "Islamomisic microaggression."
It comes from their Anti-Oppression Library Guide which acts as an outlet for the pent up self-guilt these lefty librarians have. For those that aren't aware, here is the definition of "Islamomisic microaggression."
Islamomisic microaggression (neologism (made up language that the left will make sure to be accepted into common language)): commonplace verbal or behavioral indignities, whether intentional or unintentional, which communicate hostile, derogatory, or negative slights and insults in relation to the beliefs and religious practices of Muslims.
Apparently Christians are especially at fault, mostly because they spew hate speech like "Merry Christmas," and "Happy Easter." It seems to be a daily occurrence that a new line of white guilt charges are levied against a group of people for making statements. These are communications that were previously considered to be pleasant responses in every circumstance, but now apparently it's some surgical strike against muslims.
The largest gaffe in this "guide" comes in the form of a TED talk by Melissa Boigon, a graduate of the NYU Gallatin School, who claims there is nothing “violent or anti-American” about sharia law. Apparently she missed the Ted Talk that discussed how Muhammad ordered his followers to seek out anyone that refused to follow him and then murder them. Sound similar to the ISIS caliphate?
