A Sturbridge jewelry store that shows a man proposing to his girlfriend on a football field, along with the slogan, “If you’re going take a knee this season, please have a ring in your hand,” has caused backlash.
The owner of Garieri Jewelers, Scott Garieri, put up the billboard on Route 20 in Charlton last week. After a few days, negative phone calls and emails were sent to the jewelry store.
Garieri said on The Kuhner Report,"If you don't like me, don't shop in my store. If you don't like my billboard, don't look at it."
He said, "We sell engagement rings, we don't say you have to be any color, size, religion, nationality or anything. We sell engagement rings to everybody."
When asked about his feelings of Colin Kaepernick he said, "I think he's a thug." Garieri also said he doesn't agree with Kaepernick's movement.
