Boston City Councilor pushes an optional 13th year of school

Boston City Councilor Michael Flaherty has proposed an optional 13th year of school for high school students.

Flaherty says it would help students better prepare for college. He says the extra year of school would be offered to students who have earned their high school diplomas and the program will be voluntary.

However, Kuhner disagrees with the idea of a 13th grade. He believes Boston should give students a school voucher and the option of school choice.
