Bernie Sanders plans to eliminate student loan debt

Sen. Bernie Sanders introduces a plan to wipe out student loan debt by taxing Wall Street. Sen. Sanders was joined by Rep. Pramila Jayapal and Rep. Ilhan Omar as they introduced bills in the Senate and House on Monday. These bills were designed to write off student loan debt and make public colleges tuition-free by taxing Wall Street.

"The American people bailed out Wall Street, now it is time for Wall Street to come to the aid of the middle class in this country," Sanders said. "This Wall Street tax will have the added benefit of controlling Wall Street recklessness and reducing the likelihood of another economic crash."
