The SJC sides with Suffolk County DA Rollins in dispute over “Straight Pride” parade arrests.
Last week, DA Rollins asked the Supreme Judicial Court to weigh in on a case where a Boston judge rejected her suggestion to drop charges.
In Monday's decision, Supreme Judicial Court Justice Frank Gaziano wrote that Sinnott had "no authority to 'deny' the Commonweath's entry of a nolle prosequi."
“This was a colossal waste of time, quite frankly, because anyone who’s gone to law school knows there’s a separation of powers," Rollins said during a news conference on Monday.
Eight counter-protesters were arraigned on charges of assault and battery on an officer, carrying a dangerous weapon and resisting arrest.
