James Longworth, from Freetown, south of Boston, died from Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) last week. He is the second person to die from the virus in Massachusetts.
In addition to the 10 human cases of the EEE virus reported this season in Massachusetts, eight cases of the virus have been reported in animals including seven horses and a goat.
In addition to Massachusetts, there have been reported cases of EEE in Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, North Carolina and Michigan this year.
Kuhner Country members voiced their concerns of the deadly virus as well as survivors of EEE called in to discuss the illness.
