It's President Trump vs. "The Squad" in some back and forth comments that occurred over the weekend. It started when Massachusetts Congresswoman, Ayanna Pressley made some very bold and quite shocking statements to minorities with aspirations of running for office. She expressed her belief that minorities should be the type of voice she believes they need to be. In a bombastic statement she said " We don’t need any more brown faces that don’t want to be a brown voice. We don’t need black faces that don’t want to be a black voice. We don’t need Muslims that don’t want to be a Muslim voice. We don’t need queers that don’t want to be a queer voice”. She made these statements at the Netroots Nation Conference this past Saturday.
President Trump tweeted out on Sunday a series of 3 tweets that criticized Ayanna Pressley and "The Squad" over their constant complaining about America...
The left flipped on the POTUS and went bananas thinking his comments were borderline racist with him roping in the squad as all coming from other countries and to go back to where they came from and try to fix the government. What the left failed to do was actually pay attention to the later part of the tweets saying then come back and show me how it's done. He wasn't saying leave and never come back and trying to kick them out. He was merely saying, hey you want to complain so much about a country that is doing fantastic, why don't you go use your voice in these other countries that need your help way more help than we do and come back and tell me how you turned it around. His statement wasn't racist, it was in my opinion very matter of fact. As a country, we're doing great economically and really making strides. We should be focusing on the positives not creating problems and complaining. The population needs positivity and a government that promotes it's country, not tears it down. A Government that yes fixes problems at hand and not creates bigger ones. I think Trump was speaking common sense, like you don't like it here, leave, or stay if you want but you have options and that alone makes this country the best there is because you have the freedom to come or leave.
He addressed his tweets earlier today at a presser at the White House and clarified his meaning behind it and it was really a mic drop moment:
POTUS Trump was very smart in his comments and in my opinion, he put an end to this conversation. He drew the line and laid it out perfectly. Nothing more to say.
