BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — From parades to bar crawls, Bay Staters have a variety of ways to "go green" for St. Patrick's Day. 

The first St. Patrick's Day celebration took place on March 17, 1601, in St. Augustine, Florida. While the holiday honoring the patron saint, St. Patrick, lands on a Tuesday this year, residents have several days of events to choose from.
