The Democratic downfall: How misery has driven away company

It's a bad day to be a Democrat. Trump's State of the Union speech was an absolute hit, unemployment is down, the economy is about to go platinum, and the Democrats get zero credit for it. What makes the left really want to bury their heads is the fact that Trump is the one taking a victory lap.

Here is the State of the Democrats.

CBS released a handful of national polls in an attempt to gauge the reactions of the State of the Union viewing audience. Apparently 8 out of 10 Americans agreed that Trump was trying to unite the country, which should have been obvious. Nonetheless, the battle cry of the left has been "HE'S DIVIDING THE COUNTRY." We can now confirm the tactic of attempting to convince the nation that "The Donald" was trying to pit us all against each other has failed. Chalk this up as a loss for the Dems.

Trump has seen his approval rating climb since the speech, which is probably due to 65% of the viewers feeling proud of his speech. Now I will stop short of giving Trump all the credit for this turnaround. Some of the praise needs to be sent in the Democrats direction for becoming so hateable. Although we all are prone to anger, jealously, and other negative personality traits ourselves, deep down people want to be happy. The scare tactics and fear mongering of the left worked for a little while, until we began seeing results from this administration. The scowling Democratic party is starting to irritate the populous with the constant complaining and twisting of the truth. It's like the pampered rich kid that still finds things to complain about when everything is going well, at some point you tell him/her to kick rocks.

The line of the week may not have come from the President at all, instead it came from the mouth of the great Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Sanders is a ruthless verbal gunslinger when it comes to shooting down liberal smearing. She went into enemy territory (CNN) today because she knows the best way to sell is by answering the tough slanted questions of the left. She came up with a suggestion for Jack Skellington look-a-like Nancy Pelosi that put a magnifying glass on how miserable this political group was last night. Granted, for Pelosi, watching Trump succeed is like the Jacksonville Jaguars watching Tom Brady during his game winning drive.

Sanders recommended that House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi "should smile a lot more often." You could attack Pelosi's displeasure with facts, but that's been done. The White House press secretary decided to just point out that she looks like a miserable person. It was a polite suggestion that probably cut deeper than anything else you could think up. It didn't end there. When Chris Cuomo claimed he had never seen Nancy Pelosi like that, Sanders continued.

"I'm going to be a little bit in disagreement with you. I think Nancy Pelosi looks like that all the time, I think she should smile a lot more often, I think the country would be better for it."

And the cherry on top....

"seems to kind of embody the bitterness that belongs to the Democrat Party right now."

That right there is why the Democrats are in a losing streak. Sometimes you can handle something bitter for a certain length of time, but at some point you'll want something sweet. Being negative 24/7 is exhausting, and not a great way to sell what your party is offering. Trump markets the possibility of a brighter future for all. With the president its about how WE will make America great again, and WE will be number 1. I think we've finally gotten to the point where WE all want to just be positive. We don't want to follow this woman, who always looks like your mother when she's disappointed in you.

Cheer up Nancy, this too shall pass.
