Walsh: Housing in Fire Stations and Libraries

Joining on on other groovy, funky, hippie cities like San Francisco, Chicago, and New York, Mayor Marty Walsh wants to establish Affordable Housing in existing fire stations, libraries, and other city-owned properties.

He wants them to double as what are being called  "Mixed-Use Developments;"  where people will be living in the still-functioning buildings.

According to an article on Boston.com, "Walsh has committed to creating 53,000 new housing units by 2030 as Boston’s population swells. His office says 13,551 new housing units have so far been completed and another 8,412 are currently under construction."

Well, at least they can have fun sliding down the fire pole...
