The beloved K9 Nero, of the Yarmouth Police Department is back on his paws and making a slow recovery after being shot last week along with his partner, Officer Sean Gannon, while serving a warrant. Unfortunately, Officer Gannon was killed from his injuries last week. His wake service is being held today, Tuesday April 17th and his funeral will be tomorrow, Wednesday April 18th down the Cape.
Nero was shot in face where the bullet when through his cheek and into his shoulder. He went into emergency surgery that day and has been recovering ever since. Luckily the surgery was successful and he has taken his first walk since. Nero is under the care of The Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists in Buzzards Bay.
Continued thoughts and prayers for a good recovery for Nero.
