This week's "Local Leader" is the Yarmouth Police Department for the "Officer Sean Gannon Memorial Fund". The department set up a fund to raise money for Officer Gannon's family needs as well as his K9 Nero's recovery treatment. Thus far the fund has a total of over $21,000 raised and it continues to grow!
The Falmouth Police department is chosen this week as a "Local Leader" organization because of the example they are setting for their community at large by taking care of both their fallen officer's family during this tough time and for Nero's treatment. In true 1st responder fashion, they are showing the community that when times get tough, they will do everything in their power to help.
I want to commend the local businesses and individual donors that have contributed to Officer Gannon's fund as well. A Shoutout to Simple Signs of Cape Cod in West Yarmouth for their donation of $2,800.
Cumberland Farms of Cape Cod and the Islands are donating 20 cents from every coffee and dispensed beverage sale today (Friday May 4th) and they are titling the effort "Cups for Sean". Cumberland Farms have 21 locations across the Cape and Islands so be sure to stop at one today in support of Officer Gannon!
