Sigh… you know, I watch five total TV shows, and even in that small sample size, I can’t escape. I brought this up on the Boston.com Morning show a few weeks ago, but Elizabeth Warren is indirectly ruining my favorite TV shows. "Nevertheless she persisted" is currently the bane of my superhero viewing.
It started with the ABC show "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Without giving too much away, one of the bad guys has just interrogated one of the good guys - girls, sorry, good girls... and he uses the magic phrase.
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: If I’m watching a show about superhero spies, in a virtual world, built by a robot, who read a book of dark magic, which she took from a motorcycle-riding skeleton with a flaming head, I’m in the market for a little escapism.
And the tentacles of the Elizabeth Warren Hydra (See what I did there?) have spread. It’s been announced that the Season Finale of CW’s “Supergirl” will be titled “Nevertheless She Persisted.”
I’m not bagging on The Senator, or Feminists who have adopted the phrase, but for crying out loud; can I not have one hour of TV per night that isn’t needlessly hyper-politicized?
