Lawyer, Michael Avenatti, who rose to fame as Stormy Daniel's lawyer in the case against POTUS Trump, is teasing that he might be running for the presidency in 2020. Wednesday, the celebration of Independence Day was not the only cause of fireworks going off. Avenatti tweeted out on the 4th that "only a street fighter has a chance at displacing the "King".
I always liked the Daily News! Be clear - only a street fighter has a chance at displacing the “King.” Otherwise, this country and its principles will be in pieces and non-recognizable. #FightClub #Basta pic.twitter.com/X3sSR81daZ— Michael Avenatti (@MichaelAvenatti) July 4, 2018
That tweet had the Twitt-isphere" going crazy. Does Avenatti think he's that street fighter? Would he really run? Of course people fired back at Avenatti to explain his tweet and address if he's considered actually running or not. He then put out another tweet that confirmed he would consider it...
IF (big) he seeks re-election, I will run, but only if I think that there is no other candidate in the race that has a REAL chance at beating him. We can't relive 2016. I love this country, our values and our people too much to sit by while they are destroyed. #FightClub #Basta— Michael Avenatti (@MichaelAvenatti) July 4, 2018
Avenatti followed up with even more tweets about what his position is on various political stand points. Basically the tweets hint at what he would do if he was in a position of office where he would have a say.
Solidly pro choice. Would never nominate a justice to the SCOTUS who did not believe in Roe or who would seek to outlaw same sex marriage. Fully support equality for women & people of all races, & gay rights. We don't separate families at the border. And we don't kiss-up to Putin— Michael Avenatti (@MichaelAvenatti) July 4, 2018
I agree with a number of Bernie’s positions but not all. There is no question he is very smart. But he can’t beat Trump unfortunately. That is not a good matchup.— Michael Avenatti (@MichaelAvenatti) July 5, 2018
Yes, incredibly important ally. I am confident Prime Minister Trudeau and I would get along just fine. And I can promise you we would not be laughed at.— Michael Avenatti (@MichaelAvenatti) July 4, 2018
Would you want to see a match up of Avenatti against Trump? Does he have a chance? Who else do you want to see in the running? Elizabeth Warren? Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson? What's your dream team match up? Let us know in the comments!
