Boston Police Commissioner Evans is leaving

Boston Police Commissioner, William Evans, who has served as Commissioner for 4 years, since 2014, is now moving on. He started on the force roughly around 1980/82 as a patrolman and moved up through the ranks over the years. It has been revealed that Evans is leaving to take a position with Boston College.

Why is Evans retiring from the BPD and leaving? We won't officially know until this afternoon if at all. People are speculating that Boston College must have offered him a significant pay, that higher than the BPD, a deal he couldn't pass up. Or maybe the job has just taken a toll on him and he's ready to "retire". His responsibility there at the college would be leading the police force at Boston College.

An announcement will officially be made today at 10:30am.
