Did you know 1 in 3 adults eat fast food daily?

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention during a study they conducted between 2013 and 2016, 36% of adults, more than 1 in 3 adults consume fast food on any given day. In addition to that fact, an interesting statistic the CDC found was that the consumption of fast food in older adults was indeed lower than younger adults. For example, 45% of the adults studied ages 20-39 ate fast food while only 24% over the age of 60 ate fast food as a snack or meal option. Are you surprised by these numbers? Americans do tend to have a bad reputation amongst the rest of the world as being overweight and consuming too much unhealthy food. That's a sterotype Americans certainly have. Another stat from the study found that men are more likely to consume fast food than women and when it comes to ethnicity, non-Hispanic adults consume more fast food at 42% compared to other races.

What percentage would you say you are in? Do you eat fast food a couple times a week? Once? On a very rare occasion? Vote in our poll!

VB & Kim discuss their thoughts on this and what categorizes as fast food. Is it your standard drive through or do we include take out too like chinese food? Subway? Hear more from the discussion, here!
