Megyn Kelly thinks blackface is okay for Halloween

Megyn Kelly is back in the news for her controversial comments. During her daytime talk show, "Megyn Kelly Today", broadcasted on NBC, she brought up the topic of "blackface" and "whiteface". She asked amongst her panel, "what is racist?" about dressing up as blackface for Halloween? Kelly defended the idea saying that, "it was OK when I was a kid as long as you were dressing like a character.” The argument amongst the majority of people is that it was never "okay" to dress up in blackface for Halloween...

Kelly tried honing in her point by saying that a member of the Real Housewives of New York dressed up as Diana Ross and people were giving her flak for that because she darkened her face with bronzer and she didnt see it as being racist. She thought "who doesn't want to dress up as Diana Ross?" With Kelly's comments supporting the Housewives member, one of the members of her panel still said, while he didn't see it, it sounded racist to him...

After the show aired, the criticism started rolling in and Kelly has since issued out an apology for her remarks saying that: "I realize now that such behavior is indeed wrong, and I am sorry. The history of blackface in our culture is abhorrent; the wounds too deep. One of the wonderful things about my job is that I get the chance to express and hear a lot of opinions, Today is one of those days where listening carefully to other points of view, including from friends and colleagues, is leading me to rethink my own views."

This is not the first time Kelly has made racist type comments during a broadcast, that's why people are a little surprised that we are revisiting an issue like this again...Back in 2013, some 5 years or so ago she made a controversial comment on live TV when she was covering on Fox News, the topic of Aisha Harris (Writer/journalist) and her thoughts on how Santa Claus should not be a white man because it's racist. Kelly went on to say and clarify that "by the way for all you kids watching at home, Santa is white...Santa is what he is".

After seeing and hearing what Megyn Kelly has said in the past and present, do you believe she is racist? Is she just ignorant? Or both?
