Smollett: "I have been truthful... on every single level since day one"

Jussie Smollett was charged with 16 felony counts for staging his own hate crime/attack and that included filing a false police report. Smollett's original account of the incident was that two masked men attacked him at 2am in the morning in below 20 degree weather while he was walking back from a Subway sandwich shop with his sandwich. He claims the two men ruffed him up (which he only visibly had a minor scratch but let that go), and yelled: "This is MAGA country" as they fled.

We later found out that as the police were investigating, Smollett knew his two attackers, they were two Nigerian brothers who assisted him with his diet and nutrition regime and were at one time extras on Smollett's show, Empire. Within a couple weeks period surrounding the incident, Smollett wrote them a check for over $3,000 that seemed to be a pay out for this staged attack.

Was the whole "staged attack" report, really "fake news"? Was Smollett really telling the truth all along and new information is going to emerge in this case? Smollett says he has told the truth since the very beginning...

Chicago Police Superintendent, Eddie Johnson famously reported a month or so ago when Smollett was charged, that Smollett's actions of filing a false police report and the ordeal he put the city through, was a smack in the face to the city of Chicago. He did not understand why an African American male would use the symbolism of a noose in the way he did. Johnson was on Good Morning America and told Robin Roberts that they had even more evidence than was made public. He went on to say: "It's not the Chicago police saying [the attack was staged]. It's the evidence, the facts and the witnesses that are saying it."

Needless to say, Johnson and the Chicago Police Department found out about these dropped charges when the rest of the public did. Reports say that Johnson was furious when he found out and stands by the facts that bottom line, Smollett created this hoax and nothing changes that. Johnson told the press that the city of Chicago still deserves an apology...

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel joined the Chicago Police Department in speaking out about the shocking details of these dropped charges. He in addition, was furious and even dropped a cheesy line addressing Smollett saying "have you no decency".

This case has caused the city of Chicago to be in total disarray. It will be interesting to find out more details on HOW these 16 charges of Smollett's were dropped.
