POTUS Trump vs. Ilhan Omar

President Trump is under fire for a tweet he posted that contained a video linking the tragic video footage from 9/11 to something Congresswoman Ilhan Omar said at a CAIR (Counsel on American-Islamic Relations) event where she stated: "CAIR was founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties." Mr. President took offense to Omar saying "some people did something" as insensitive to Americans and the tragic event where we loss so many of our own due to the Muslim terrorist organization. He thinks Omar is "out of control".

This is the video President Trump put up on Twitter. Do you think it was uncalled for?

Democrats are defending Congresswoman Ilhan Omar. They are saying her statements of "some people did something" has been taken way out of context and she was not undermining what happened on 9/11. New Jersey Senator Cory Booker said this is a straight up attack on the congresswoman. He talked to CNN and stated: "We all should all rally to a fellow American congresswoman's defense right now against a President that seems to have this disgusting, in my opinion, desire to continue to attack, especially African-Americans" .

Can we agree that when considering the words right on the surface in regards to 9/11, "some people did something", that is a bit insensitive regarding the subject content she was referring to. It wasn't "some people who did something", it was a Muslim terrorist organization who straight up wanted blood of innocent Americans and blindsided us in our own home territory. We can give Omar the benefit of the doubt that she misspoke, but do you really think that if the roles were reversed and POTUS Trump referred to 9/11 saying this, that he would not be blasted by everyone and the first ones spitting in his face wouldn't be the Democrats? Can you blame him for taking this personally? Not only is he the President of the United States but after all he is a New Yorker so 9/11 hits close to home for him...

Ilhan Omar has since received serious threats directed at her since President Trump tweeted out about her. We ask who is to blame for those threats though? Is it really President Trump for tweeting or is it Omar herself for her own words and actions?

We discuss & ask you what you think:
