President Trump was at it over the weekend battling people on Twitter. He tweeted about Democratic Chair of the House Oversight Committee, Rep. Elijah Cummings and the extremely poor condition of his district in Baltimore. Naturally, Cummings is a strong critic of the President so to begin with that's fuel enough for the President to go after him. There are numerous factors that go into why this battle erupted. 1) Cummings criticized Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan over border conditions during a congressional hearing on July 18. 2) In the past Cummings has had committees that have launched a number of investigations looking into President Trump's administration relating to finances, White House practices like violating the Hatch Act and security clearances. In other words, it's no wonder President Trump is on the attack. He makes a compelling point that while Cummings is over here criticizing the so called horrible conditions at the border, maybe he should take a look in his own backyard...
Rep. Elijah Cummings tweeted back to POTUS Trump's tweets:
Is President Trump correct about Baltimore & even so should he have said it? He didn't stop with Cummings, he went on the attack with Rev. Al Sharpton too...
Rev. Al Sharpton held a press conference this morning and addressed President Trump and his comments...
Thoughts on this one? Should President Trump keep his thoughts to himself or is that what you love about him? If people are going to go on the attack towards him, can you blame him for firing back?
